Job summary

Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group in Nashville is seeking an organized accounting professional to manage payments, invoicing, and vendor relations. You will ensure accuracy across ledgers, prepare journal entries, and support internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience using Bill.com, QuickBooks and Excel, highly preferred.
• Previous experience maintaining books and records, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and accounts payable experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow company policy to complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Reconcile vendor invoices and expenses, preparing checks.
• Maintain full cycle documentation for revolving credit debt by recording entry of credit cards, attaching receipts, and maintaining thorough and accurate records.
• Create classes needed to track projects and bill backs. Review expenses and prepare support for bill back invoice.
• Prepare bill pay reports, reconcile unpaid bills, and route to internal teams for review.
• Support the onboarding and transition of high net-worth client accounts, including account setups, financial data organization, and coordination with internal departments and external advisors.
• Maintain client books and records by recording transactions, posting journal entries, and ensuring accurate accounting treatment of financial activity.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and supporting schedules; investigate and resolve reconciliations.
• Assist with financial review and research projects by analyzing historical transactions, tracing account activity, and compiling documentation to support management inquiries, audits, and special projects as assigned.

Position Summary

This position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understands the need to work in an integrated manner with other members of the department in furtherance of goals, objectives, and knowledge.

• Follow company policy to complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports.
• Records expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.
• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Reconcile vendor invoices and expenses, preparing checks.
• Maintain full cycle documentation for revolving credit debt by recording entry of credit cards, attaching receipts, and maintaining thorough and accurate records.
• Create classes needed to track projects and bill backs. Review expenses and prepare support for bill back invoice.
• Prepare bill pay reports, reconcile unpaid bills, and route to internal teams for review.
• Proactively alert management of issues such as missing invoices.
• Prepare budget templates.
• Prepare 1099’s.
• Prepare Shareholder Payroll templates.
• Support the onboarding and transition of high net-worth client accounts, including account setups, financial data organization, and coordination with internal departments and external advisors.
• Maintain client books and records by recording transactions, posting journal entries, and ensuring accurate accounting treatment of financial activity.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and supporting schedules; investigate and resolve reconciliations.
• Assist with financial review and research projects by analyzing historical transactions, tracing account activity, and compiling documentation to support management inquiries, audits, and special projects as assigned.
• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Stay up to date on company policy and procedure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus.
• Experience using Bill.com, QuickBooks and Excel, highly preferred.
• Previous experience maintaining books and records, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and accounts payable experience required.
