Job summary

Charter Next Generation, Inc. seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage all AP activities at our Lexington facility. You will ensure timely vendor payments, maintain precise records, and code invoices accurately while obtaining approvals and reconciling discrepancies.

You will collaborate with various departments in a fast-paced environment, review reports, and drive process improvements. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and experience in manufacturing finance.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a high-volume environment.
• Associate degree in Accounting (or 2 extra years of experience in lieu).
• Experience in a manufacturing business.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of reports.
• Must work well in a high paced team environment.
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office applications.
• Self-starter able to influence, coach, and persuade at the highest levels.

Responsibilities

• Handle all activities in the accounts payable function.
• Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Scan, index, and code invoices.
• Obtain accurate approval for payment.
• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving docs.
• Collaborate with approvers to prevent payment delays.
• Review accounting reports and AP register for accuracy.
• Interact with internal and external clients to resolve issues.
• Handle escalated vendor situations and inquiries.
• Perform statement reviews and suggest process improvements.
• AD-hoc duties as needed to support the business.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function
• Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices
• Maintain accurate records and reports
• Scan, index, and code invoices
• Obtain accurate approval for payment
• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Work with approvers to ensure payments are not delayed
• Review applicable accounting reports and accounts payable register to ensure accuracy
• Interacting with Internal and external clients to resolve issues
• Handling escalated vendor situations
• Statement Review
• Provide answers to all internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Develop and assist with departmental process improvements
• Ad-hoc other duties as required and necessary to support the business

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Prefer 3 years of experience in a high-volume environment
• Prefer an Associate degree in Accounting (will accept 2 additional years of experience in lieu of)
• Experience in a manufacturing business
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of reports
• Must work well in a high paced team environment
• Intermediate to advanced level experience with Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Self-starter able to influence, coach, and persuade at the highest levels of the business
• Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism
