This role supports back-office functions, including reporting and reconciliations, and collaborates across global teams to optimize accounts payable management. Onsite in Cincinnati, OH, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a computerized business accounting office preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, and Global Edge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable while maintaining adequate internal controls. The position supports process and system improvements that increase departmental efficiency through best practices, electronic workflow, and other initiatives. The role also supports back-office functions such as reporting, reconciliations, and error resolution; partners globally and cross-functionally to optimize accounts payable management; and is accountable for the end-to-end accounts payable process, including consistent application of policies and work instructions, periodic transaction and risk reviews, timely completion of work against corporate deadlines, and preparation and organization of documentation necessary to make payment.

This role will be onsite in Cincinnati, OH.

Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Receives, codes, and enters vendor invoices into the workflow system.
  • Assists users with best practices to support the newly created workflow process.
  • Enters vendor invoices into the accounting system.
  • Matches purchase orders to invoices and works with internal business resources to resolve discrepancies.
  • Manages the vendor payment process through scheduled check runs and prepares ACH and wire payments.
  • Maintains and updates the vendor database, working with vendors as needed.
  • Develops quality professional relationships with vendors and internal company partners.
  • Responds to internal and external vendor inquiries related to the business.
  • Analyzes current ways of working and recommends and implements process improvements.
  • Maintains an effective internal financial control environment.
  • Coordinates the internal approval process for vendor invoices.
  • Applies knowledge of accounting practices to analyze and record business transactions and reconciliations.
  • Researches, tracks, and resolves, or properly refers, accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain or convey information and correct transactions.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • College-level courses or equivalent desired.
  • Two to five years of experience in a computerized business accounting office preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of account review and relationship processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting applications, Epicor, and Global Edge software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
  • Manufacturing industry and project management knowledge is a plus.
  • Customer and personal service, including intercultural awareness, service-minded practices, customer needs assessment, quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • English language structure and content, including word meaning and spelling, composition, and grammar.

Work Environment

Work may include recurring processing deadlines, periods of high inquiry volume, and extended computer use. The physical demand is generally sedentary, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting or carrying typical office materials.
