Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage all AP functions and fixed assets processes. This role requires attention to detail, strong data entry, and the ability to allocate expenses across departments.

Ideal candidates will hold an associate degree in accounting and have 5+ years of experience, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office, to support financial reporting and compliance in our Indiana operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting preferred.
• 5+ years' experience working with Fixed Assets.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good communications skills.
• Experience with Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, expense reporting, data entry, check printing and mailing.
• Allocate expenses to departments.
• Reconcile AP to General Ledger and to internal systems.
• Answer vendor inquiries.
• Collect data on department expenses.
• Backup colleagues in the department.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with health and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of AP function, including collection of invoices, employee expenses, inputting data into the system, printing checks, and mailing out checks.
• Responsible for allocating expenses to different departments.
• Responsible for reconciling AP to itself and to the General Ledger.
• Responsible for answering questions from vendors.
• Responsible for collecting data about department expenses.
• Responsible for backing up others in the department.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
