Job summary

Steel Nation in Canonsburg, PA, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to be the primary AP processor and accounting resource, supporting growth across multiple accounting functions.

The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least two years in AP, preferably with construction accounting experience. Strong Excel and Sage 100 Contractor skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum two-years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Construction accounting experience is ideal.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor, or similar accounting systems.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

We have an immediate opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist at our Canonsburg headquarters. In support of our ongoing business growth, this role will serve as the primary Accounts Payable processor as well as an accounting resource, with responsibilities across a variety of accounting functions.

Responsibilities include:

• Review and process incoming payables; communicate with vendors, and research payables discrepancies or issues
• Process the weekly check run
• Assist with PNC Credit Card journal entry posting
• Serve as a backup to accounts receivable
• Provide overall accounting support as needed
