Housing Connect in Utah is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Accounting Department under the Controller. The role focuses on accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate coding, data entry, and timely processing of payments and rent deposits.

The ideal candidate has two years of related experience, a high school diploma (associate degree in accounting preferred), and strong interpersonal and ten-key skills.

Qualifications

• Two years related work experience.
• High School Diploma; Associate Degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Good interpersonal and communicative skills.
• Proficient at ten-key by touch.
• Able to work under time pressures.
• Professional in manner and appearance.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets, and AP/AR processes.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase orders for AP coding and encode invoices; process data entry.
• Process and print AP checks and ACHs; maintain AP files and W-9 forms.
• Handle petty cash, verify authorization, and reconcile payments.
• Process 1099 forms and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Post rent payments to tenant accounts and deliver deposits.
• Support accounting personnel and respond to landlord inquiries regarding payments.
