Job summary

MFA Oil Company in Columbia, MO is seeking an Accounting Specialist to process and validate daily General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and vendor statements, ensuring accurate posting and timely payments across Big O Tires locations.

You will support audit and clerical tasks, communicate with field personnel, and assist with month-end close, data reconciliation, and process improvements while upholding company policies and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of strong accounting experience.
• Knowledge of automated accounting systems and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines with time management.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities

• Import daily General Ledger and Accounts Receivable files from POS system, validate posting, and resolve errors.
• Compare daily scanned documents with information entered in Great Plains; coordinate with field personnel.
• Respond to calls and emails, provide documents, and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Receive and apply customer payments accurately and timely.
• Maintain electronic files of reports and supplier invoices.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to the Accounting Manager.
• Back up for daily audit process and support the team to meet deadlines.
