Job summary

Ruppert Landscape Co. seeks an Accounts Payable Operations Manager in Laytonsville, MD to lead a team of AP specialists and drive end-to-end AP processes.

You will ensure timely, accurate payments and strong internal controls while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency. The role requires 6+ years of AP leadership in large organizations, GAAP knowledge, and system experience (JD Edwards, Spreadsheet Server).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive AP experience in large-scale operations.
• Experience leading high-volume, multi-entity AP teams.
• Ability to optimize AP processes, controls, and SOPs.
• Experience with system implementations and user training.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4-5 Accounts Payable Specialists and coach performance.
• Serve as primary point of contact for AP inquiries from branches, staff, and vendors.
• Resolve escalated AP issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee daily AP operations: process and pay 6,500+ invoices per month.
• Maintain internal controls: vendor reconciliations, aging, master data.
