Job summary

Sterling Lexicon in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee daily AP operations, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and support the Director of Accounting.

You will supervise AP Coordinators, review payable transactions, manage banking activity, and contribute to annual audits. Strong Excel skills, organization, and teamwork are essential. A Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years in a related role are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience in accounts payable or treasury role.
• Two to three years’ experience in a managerial role

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of the accounts payable department and serve as primary support for accounts payable personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve payable requests, serve as primary contact for payment inquiries (external and internal), manage payable returns, provide support to manager for all payable related activities.
• Supervise AP Coordinators and complete yearly performance appraisals.
• Review and distribute daily banking reports.
• Review and approve all payable transactions (checks, ACHs, Domestic and Foreign wires) as assigned.
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely reissue of returned/rejected banking transactions and ensure appropriate GL entries.
• Perform detailed review and analysis of 113500 report (unbilled) for payable transactions, data summarized for Director of Accounting.
• Maintain ownership of the 1099 reporting process including year-end review.
• Assess Aged Payable Reports and coordinate follow-up and resolution of aged payables.
• Perform monthly corporate expense audits and accruals for timely reporting.
• Assist with inter-company payable transactions and reconciliations.
• Support staff for Comdata monthly reconciliations/transactions.
• Establish measures and turn time targets; maintain volume and capacity reports.
• Suggest and implement process improvements for AP.
• Support internal and external audits and special projects as needed.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
