Job summary

Salem Academy and College seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the full disbursement cycle for the Academy and College, ensuring accurate coding, timely vendor payments, and strong internal controls. Reporting to the Controller, you will supervise the AP Coordinator, manage 1099 reporting, support audits, and drive process improvements across purchasing and expense workflows.

Candidates should have at least five years in accounts payable, with higher education or nonprofit experience

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible accounts payable, disbursement, or general accounting experience.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or other fund accounting environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, purchase-to-pay processes, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounts payable and disbursement cycle for the Academy and College, including invoice processing, PO matching, and payment runs.
• Supervise the Accounts Payable Coordinator and support staff development.
• Maintain internal controls, ensure proper coding to funds, and manage vendor relationships and inquiries.
• Prepare and analyze AP aging, cash disbursement forecasts, and year-end close schedules.
• Support tax reporting and auditor requests during external audits.
