Job summary

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Required: Four to five years of relevant and progressive professional experience in accounts payable.
• Required: Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and IRS regulations.
• Preferred: CPA, CMA, or MBA.
• Preferred: Experience with Ellucian Banner in Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of accounts payable and purchasing card functions.
• Supervise AP staff including hiring, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions up to termination.
• Manage vendor administration, payment reconciliations, tax documentation, and complex payment issues.
• Promote strong internal controls and compliance with university policies and IRS guidelines.
• Provide guidance and training to employees, cardholders, and approvers.
