Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP function and strengthen controls across the procure-to-pay cycle.

Reporting to the Controller, you will own invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations for domestic and international vendors, partnering with Procurement and Engineering to ensure timely, accurate payments and audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience processing domestic and international wire transfers with high accuracy.
• Experience supporting external financial statement audits and preparing audit-ready documentation.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice intake, two-way matching, three-way matching, GL coding, approval workflows, payment execution, vendor reconciliations, and aging management.
• Process all payments with exceptional accuracy, verifying banking instructions and supporting documentation.
• Review invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and documentation to identify discrepancies and ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain AP ledger integrity through timely reconciliations and close activities.
• Prepare audit-ready documentation and support audits with external reviewers.
• Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Program Management to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate reliability with weekend/evening availability during month-end close.
