Job summary

The Thacher School in Ojai, California seeks a Manager of Accounts Payable to oversee vendor payments, expense processing, and related reconciliations. You will partner with departments, ensure proper tax withholding, manage Ramp card workflow, and support the DOF in planning and audits.

The role requires a bachelor's in business/finance and at least four years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems such as Blackbaud and Ramp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field and at least four years of professional accounting/finance experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills with financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Effective problem solving and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Strong analytical, modeling and problem-solving abilities.
• Competence in Excel and Google Workspace to analyze financial data.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and approve vendor invoices and non-invoice payments, reconciling vendor statements.
• Coordinate with departments and vendors to obtain missing invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Ensure proper tax withholding for payments subject to federal or state taxes.
• Oversee Ramp card software for travel expenses, reimbursements and card transactions.
• Monitor documentation and exception reports to ensure compliance and address discrepancies.
• Serve as primary contact for Ramp cardholders, proxies, and financial managers.
