Role Description

The Accounts Payable Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Lafayette, Louisiana Metropolitan Area. This role oversees the accounts payable function, including processing vendor invoices, verifying approvals, coding expenses, and ensuring timely payments. The Accounts Payable Manager maintains accurate ledgers, prepares and reviews journal entries, handles accruals, and reconciles accounts related to payables. The position monitors cash flow for payables, resolves invoice and payment discrepancies, and collaborates with vendors and internal teams to maintain strong relationships. The manager also develops and implements process improvements, supports audits and compliance requirements, and prepares periodic reports to support financial decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting foundation, including Accounting, Journal Entries (Accounting), and Accruals skills.
• Solid Finance knowledge to support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and vendor payment planning.
• Advanced Analytical Skills for reviewing variances, reconciling accounts, and improving payable processes.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) are beneficial.
• Experience managing an accounts payable function or similar role, preferably in industrial or environmental services sectors.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactions accurately and on schedule.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with vendors, internal departments, and leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications (such as CPA or CMA) are a plus.
