Job summary

High Country Search Group is partnering with a growing energy company in Greenwood Village, CO to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Manager. This role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote) and a compensation package of $110,000–$125,000 plus a 10–15% bonus.

The AP Manager will lead day-to-day AP, bring AP in-house, and build scalable processes. Reporting to the Senior Expenditure Accounting Manager, you will work with accounting, field operations, and vendors to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Experience with growing or changing organizations.
• Strong ownership mindset and process improvement oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily AP function and provide direction to AP team members.
• Oversee invoice workflow from coding to payment.
• Review invoices for correct GL/AFE coding.
• Manage OpenInvoice platform and support users, vendors, and queries.
• Maintain vendor records and onboarding including W-9s.
• Handle employee expense reimbursements and credit card activity.
• Perform month-end AP reconciliations.
• Coordinate payment runs and monitor outstanding invoices.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issues.
• Collaborate with accounting and operations to ensure timely processing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and controls.
• Support other accounting projects as needed.

High Country Search Group is partnering with a growing energy company in Greenwood Village to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Manager.

This person will play a key role in bringing the AP function in-house and building a scalable process as the organization continues to grow. Reporting to the Senior Expenditure Accounting Manager, the AP Manager will lead day-to-day AP operations while working closely with accounting, field operations, and vendors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the daily AP function and provide direction to AP team members
• Oversee invoice workflow from initial coding and approval through final payment
• Review invoices for appropriate GL and AFE coding
• Manage the OpenInvoice platform and support users, vendors, and system-related questions
• Maintain vendor records and oversee new vendor onboarding and W-9 documentation
• Manage employee expense reimbursements and company credit card activity
• Complete and review AP-related account reconciliations during month-end
• Coordinate payment runs and monitor outstanding invoices
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issues
• Partner with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely processing
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows, controls, and procedures
• Support the accounting team with additional projects as needed

What We're Looking For

• Oil & Gas or Energy industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with OpenInvoice and/or NetSuite is highly preferred
• Experience managing AP processes in a growing or changing organization
• Someone who can take ownership of the AP function while continuing to improve how things are done
