Job summary

Edelman is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead our Finance Shared Services team in Chicago. You will oversee day-to-day AP operations across North America, including Canada, while supporting a team of finance professionals in the US and Brazil.

You will manage end-to-end AP in Workday, drive process improvements, and maintain strong financial controls. This role emphasizes collaboration across regional and global Finance teams in a dynamic, international setting.

Qualifications

• At least 4-5 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or related finance function.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a Finance Shared Services environment, including supervising AP teams.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Financial Management or similar ERP systems for supplier invoices, purchase orders, approvals, payments, and reporting.
• Experience reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice, payment, and account discrepancies.
• Familiarity with multi-currency and intercompany transactions across multiple companies or countries.
• Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable controls, approval workflows, and financial compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Accounts Payable team, providing day-to-day guidance and helping resolve operational challenges.
• Oversee end-to-end AP processes in Workday, including supplier invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, approvals, payments, and settlements.
• Manage invoice exceptions, payment discrepancies, supplier reconciliations, and outstanding balances to ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate check runs, ACH payments, approval workflows, and month-end close activities while maintaining strong financial controls.
• Partner with Procurement, Tax, Treasury, Finance, and regional FSS teams to resolve issues and support business operations.
• Monitor AP transactions, supplier accounts, and aging reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
• Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and document AP processes and workflows.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, supporting continuous learning and effective communication across regions.
