Job summary

Platte Valley Companies in Scottsbluff, Nebraska is seeking an Accounting Clerk to perform routine clerical and accounting tasks across AP/GL functions. You will reconcile accounts, process invoices, monitor tax reporting, and assist in month-end close with strong accuracy.

The role requires basic accounting education or experience and proficiency with Word/Excel, attention to detail, and ability to work with confidential information. This is a full-time position with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Accounting emphasis coursework or relevant experience.
• Experience with accounts payable and general ledger concepts encouraged.
• Ability to learn and adapt to multiple accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Accounts Payable function.
• Code invoices and allocate to affiliates as needed.
• Research and resolve differences in AP records and invoices.
• Ensure necessary authorizations before payment.
• Maintain ACH information for electronic payments.
• Monitor data entry of invoices and expense reports.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices and expense reports.
• Prepare and distribute reports as needed.
• Monitor 1099 NEC/Misc reporting and year-end activities.
• Assist in year-end 1099 reporting.
• Compile quarterly sales and use tax information.
• Calculate and remit use tax.
• Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts monthly.
• Prepare meeting packets and minutes as needed.
