Job summary

Freight Handlers in Fuquay-Varina, NC is hiring an Accounting Operations & AP Specialist to own accounts payable, support the Controller with month-end close, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced finance environment.

You will leverage strong attention to detail and organizational skills to process invoices, manage approvals, code to GL, prepare payments, and maintain vendor records, while supporting reconciliations and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Experience supporting month-end close preferred
• Experience with audit support or reconciliations preferred

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and on time
• Code invoices according to GL structure and manage approvals
• Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire) and maintain vendor records
• Assist month-end close preparation and reconciliations
• Support audit requests and maintain SOPs and documentation
• Collaborate with Payroll, Billing, and Accounting teams
