Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with an established organization in the construction and real estate industry seeking an Accounting Clerk to support its Accounts Payable department in Michigan City, IN. Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on accounts payable experience.
• Experience with invoices, coding expenses, and matching purchase orders with supporting documentation.
• ERP or accounting software experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Comfortable working within a paperless accounting environment.
• Construction or real estate accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a busy accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely submission for approval.
• Review and match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips, and supporting documentation.
• Enter, scan, and route invoices through electronic accounting systems and approval workflows.
• Assist with invoice processing for the real estate division, including coordinating approvals with property managers.
• Communicate with vendors, internal departments, and project superintendents to resolve invoice discrepancies and missing documentation.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on pending approvals to ensure timely processing.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation within a paperless AP environment.
• Assist the construction accounting team with additional invoice processing and departmental projects as needed.
