CFS is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Muskegon, MI to join a well-established organization serving a diverse community. You will review, process, and reconcile invoices, maintain accurate records, and support month-end activities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or related experience, 1+ year in accounts payable, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel; government or nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 1+ year of accounting or accounts payable experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage repetitive, process-oriented tasks effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Review and approve accounts payable invoices submitted by internal departments
• Process a high volume of weekly invoices while ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and distribute vendor payments
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation
• Assist with account reconciliations
• Review and post journal entries as needed
• Support month-end and departmental accounting activities
• Follow established accounting procedures and internal controls
• Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate financial processing
