Job summary

Gayle Benson Automotive Group in D’Iberville, Mississippi is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. You will process vendor invoices, match them to POs and receipts, and maintain accurate records in our accounting system.

The ideal candidate has experience in accounts payable or bookkeeping, strong Excel skills, excellent organizational ability, and the capacity to work independently while supporting a collaborative dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation.
• Verify invoice details, coding, approvals, and payment terms.
• Enter accounts payable transactions into the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
• Prepare invoices for payment in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and related documentation.
• Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments regarding billing questions and payment status.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and accounts payable reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
