Job summary

M. J. Electric is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Iron Mountain, Michigan. You will sort and process invoices, review for accuracy, reconcile vendor statements, and support the AP department with clerical tasks.

The role requires basic GAAP knowledge, strong data entry and Excel skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. A High School Diploma is required; related experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• A basic understanding of generally accepted accounting practices.
• Basic knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated multi-tasking, data entry skills, and prioritizing.
• Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proven communication, organizational, documentation and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer skills that include experience with Microsoft Excel.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Education beyond High School preferred).
• Related experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Sort and process company invoices.
• Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements.
• Post and scan documents per company procedures and payment terms meeting all the A/P deadlines.
• Provide clerical support for the department.
