Job summary

Young Automotive Group in Layton, Utah is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. This full-time role focuses on accurate invoice processing and timely vendor payments in a fast-paced setting.

You will support clerical tasks and daily AP operations, contributing to a team-oriented, family-owned culture with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in accounting.
• Must have a good driving record and be insurable.
• Automotive experience will be helpful.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Strong teamwork and reliable performance.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Processes vendor payments for multiple dealerships.
• Provides clerical assistance as requested.
• Delivers a high level of internal/external customer service.
• Approves current charges.
• Checks vouchers and obtains payment approval.
• Prepares accounts payable checks.
• Posts open items daily in accounts payable.
• Prints AP reports and maintains files.
• Reconciles statements and ledger with schedule.
• Audits freight bills against inquiries.
• Analyzes vendor accounts.
• Responds to vendor inquiries.
• Assists in monthly closings.
• Sorts and substantiates documentation; prepares invoices and statements.

Responsibilities:

• Processes vendor payments for various dealerships belonging to the Young Automotive Group
• Provides clerical assistance as requested
• Provides a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers
• Gives approvals for current charges
• Checks all vouchers and obtains appropriate payment approval
• Prepares accounts payable checks
• Posts all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis
• Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
• Reconciles statement and the ledger making sure that payments are consistent with Young Automotive Group schedules
• Audits freight bills against freight inquires
• Analyzes vendor accounts
• Answers all vendor inquiries
• Assists in monthly closings
• Complies and sorts documents such as invoice and checks and substantiates business transactions
• Prepares invoices and checks and account statements reports and other records.

Qualifications:

• 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in accounting
• Must have a good driving record and be considered “insurable” by our auto insurance carrier
• Previous experience in the automotive industry will be helpful
• Strong excel skills
• Attention to detail
• A history of successful performance and employment
• A strong sense of team work and a desire to make a difference.
