Job summary

SNELLING seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist/Bookkeeper for a respected East Texas organization. The role handles accounts payable processing, reconciliations, payroll support, record keeping, and other accounting duties with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

The position is Temp-to-Hire, meaning SNELLING will guide you through the interview process and serve as employer for a designated period until a permanent hire is made.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable and/or bookkeeping experience required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Public sector experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and process invoices for payment.
• Research and resolve invoice and vendor statement discrepancies.
• Reconcile accounts payable activity, financial statements, and records.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with payroll processing and related administrative tasks.
• Compile and organize credit card documentation.
• Support budget preparation and annual audit activities.
• Complete special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned.
