Job summary

The Salvation Army in Philadelphia is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join the Finance Department. This role offers immediate availability, 35 hours per week, and reports to the Accounts Payable-Team Lead.

Responsibilities include reviewing invoices, data entry, mailing checks, and supporting the DDP AP Associate. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (some college preferred) with finance/accounting emphasis or 5+ years of relevant experience, plus strong Word/Excel skills,

Qualifications

  • High School graduate required, some college preferred, with emphasis in Finance/Accounting or at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate competency of computer software including Word and Excel.
  • Strategic thinker and effective decision maker.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple levels of operations.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment.
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming invoices for completeness, approval, prior payment history.
  • Enter invoice data into accounting software
  • Mail checks and file voucher copies with backup information for Finance and DDP departments
  • Process remittances where applicable
  • Assist DDP AP Associate with entering DDP invoice data into accounting software
  • Research statements, vendor inquiries, program inquiries, payment issues

Position: Accounts Payable Associate

Department: Finance Department

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday -Friday

Reporting Relationship:Accounts Payable-Team Lead

Salary and Grade:$23.10 per hour; 76, Non-Exempt
