Job description

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST – Be the Backbone of the Operation

More than a job. An investment in you.

At Cornerstone, we don’t just build commercial projects; we build careers, teams, and long-term success. Since 1993, we’ve grown as a 100% Alaskan-owned company by focusing on collaboration, accountability, and doing things the right way.

We’re looking for an Accounts Payable & Administration Specialist who wants more than processing invoices, someone who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly, supporting teams, and being a trusted point of contact across the company.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

This role sits at the intersection of financial accuracy and daily operations.

You’re not just processing invoices, you’re ensuring vendors are paid correctly, teams have what they need, and the business runs without disruption. From financial detail to first impressions in the office, your work supports every part of the company.

It’s a role that requires organization, ownership, and consistency with clear opportunities to grow into broader accounting or operational responsibilities.

For people who take pride in doing things right and want to be a reliable, trusted part of a team, this is a role with real impact.

What You’ll Do (The Impact You’ll Have)

You’ll play a critical role in both financial accuracy and day-to-day operations, supporting the accounting team while keeping the office running efficiently.

Accounts Payable & Financial Support
  • Manage and process vendor invoices with accuracy and accountability
  • Track and reconcile credit card transactions and receipts
  • Assist with weekly bank deposits and account reconciliations
  • Support subcontractor compliance tracking (payroll, insurance, documentation)

Administrative & Office Operations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and team members
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and office logistics
  • Track and maintain company vehicle documentation (registration, insurance, maintenance)
  • Manage office equipment, supplies, and vendor service needs
  • Support leadership and team members with day-to-day operational needs

This role is essential to keeping both the financial systems and the office environment running smoothly.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines attention to detail with reliability and a strong sense of ownership.

  • 1+ year of administrative experience in an office environment
  • 1+ year of accounting or accounts payable experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Bonus if you have:
  • Construction industry experience
  • Additional accounting experience
Compensation
  • $19.23 - $28.84 per hour (depending on experience)

Time & Flexibility
  • Generous PTO that allows you to recharge and manage life outside of work
  • Paid holidays plus a company-wide break from Christmas through New Year’s
  • Paid volunteer time to give back to your community

Your Future
  • 401(k) with profit sharing of at least 3% or more, depending on company performance
  • Performance-based incentives aligned with company success

  • You have real ownership over your work
