Job summary

The City of Naperville seeks an Accounts Payable Analyst to share and assist in the accounts payable functions of the Finance Department, including payment of goods and services, processing of electronic funds transfers, and administration of the vendor database for the City and Naperville Public Library.

The role serves as an auditor ensuring proper accounting procedures are followed for purchasing and payment of goods.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Three or more years of experience performing financial-related duties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate accounts payable activities for processing and payment of invoices.
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Review vendor payments for discount opportunities, verify Federal ID paperwork, and schedule payments (checks, EFTs).
• Resolves invoice or payment discrepancies and maintains banking accuracy.
• Prepare and file annual Form 1099-NEC/MISC and IRS reporting.
