We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Payable Analyst to join a growing finance team within an employee-owned organization in the energy industry. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to day-to-day accounts payable operations while helping advance automation, technology, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with an interest in leveraging AI-powered tools and automated workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial processes. This individual will collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and management to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely invoice processing and payments.

Overview Of The Accounts Payable Analyst Role

• Review, validate, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently using automated accounts payable and AI-powered invoice processing systems.
• Monitor automation performance, identify processing errors or exceptions, and recommend opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Escalate system issues, processing anomalies, and unresolved exceptions to minimize workflow disruptions.
• Analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, discrepancies, duplicate payments, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments and communicating directly with vendors as needed.
• Request corrected or revised invoices and track outstanding issues through resolution.
• Reconcile vendor statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor payment terms and ensure eligible early-payment discounts are captured.
• Maintain accurate documentation of accounts payable procedures, workflows, and process improvements.
