This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Adult Correction. This position is located at 1034 Bragg St, Raleigh, NC 27610.

The Accounting Technician II will perform a full range of accounting duties in support of the NCCIW Hospital’s financial operations. This includes the processing, reconciliation, and analysis of financial data, as well as the preparation of financial statements and reports. The incumbent is responsible for tracking expenditures, managing billing and receipts, maintaining subsidiary ledgers, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial policies and procedures. Reporting directly to the Administrative Supervisor/Business Officer, this position plays a key role in ensuring fiscal accuracy, integrity, and operational efficiency for the hospital’s financial administration.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies

• Knowledge
• Working knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and practices, including ledger management and reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing financial records in a public health or correctional environment.
• Skills
• Proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g., ERP systems), Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
• Ability to identify and resolve recurring financial discrepancies and contribute to the preparation of standard reports and statements.
• Competence in the use of financial tools, such as adding machines or calculators, for accurate data recording and computations.
• Abilities
• Ability to interpret, verify, and process accounting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively in both oral and written formats.
  
  

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Associate degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
