Job summary

New Horizons Behavioral Health in Columbus, GA seeks an Accounting Clerk to perform accounts payable/receivable, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, and bank reconciliations in a business-office setting.

The role requires attention to GAAP compliance and the ability to develop and implement efficient financial procedures to support the organization’s objectives. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in high-volume accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma/GED.
Must have at least two (2) years of hands-on accounting experience in high volume settings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational skills and time management.
Good internal and external communication skills.

Responsibilities

Performs accounting and fiscal control functions specifically relating to accounts payable/accounts receivable.
Records financial transactions, analyzes and reconciles accounting records, and prepares standard accounting reports.
Determines sources of errors by researching accounting records.
Reports errors to Supervisor.
Maintains complete, accurate, and readily accessible files that conform to applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
