Qualifications

• Experience: Eighteen months of experience performing duties equivalent to a Senior Account Clerk in Monterey County.
• Training: Completion of a training course leading to a bookkeeper certificate and six months of supervised on the job training.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Post financial and statistical information to logs, journals, ledgers and other records; assign proper account codes.
• Reconcile and adjust accounting records; resolve problems with appropriate entries.
• Maintain cost accounting records; compute and allocate costs and prepare summaries.
• Coordinate with departmental personnel and other agencies on financial recordkeeping.
