Job summary

HomeServices of America is seeking an accountant to perform a variety of general accounting tasks and to support the department with data entry, reporting and reconciliation duties. The role requires accuracy, Excel proficiency and experience with accounting software.

The position may involve payroll duties and benefit enrollment support, with some overtime during month-end. The office is based in Plano, TX, with relocation to Dallas, TX planned for early 2027.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance or general business or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• 3 to 5 years accounting experience; related industry preferred.
• Strong Excel and data entry skills; working knowledge of accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general accounting tasks (90-95%).
• Enter accounting data, maintain records and generate reports.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts and bank statements.
• Process accounts receivable and payable, investigate discrepancies.
• Daily cash management, deposits, wire activity and journal entries.
• May assist with payroll and benefits enrollment (0-10%).
• Overtime possible during month-end processing (0-5%).
