Job summary

City of Albuquerque is seeking a finance professional to oversee and coordinate the planning and implementation of new financial systems and procedures within the Accounting division; analyze user information needs and provide recommendations and perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of the assigned area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or MIS with twelve (12) credit hours in accounting and at least a 'C' or better.
• Six (6) years of accounting experience including four (4) years in financial statement preparation or governmental accounting.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• MIS experience preferred; CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate planning and implementation of new financial systems and procedures including enhancements to existing financial systems.
• Evaluate and assess client needs and recommend solutions; serve as project manager with staff; set project priorities.
• Design, coordinate and conduct user training; assist users with system functions; develop and maintain user manuals.
• Prepare and present project progress reports; provide technical and professional financial support to City departments and City Council.
• Serve as point of contact for external auditors during the City’s Audit and respond to auditor queries.
