Job summary

The School Finance Manager role, based in Albuquerque, NM, partners with public school leaders to deliver high-level financial management, accounting oversight, and operational guidance for K-12 programs.

You will lead accounting operations, manage budgeting and payroll, oversee grants, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and mentor accounting staff while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience in school finance, school business operations, public sector accounting, or a supervisory accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, along with experience using cloud-based business applications and accounting systems.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and client relationship management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial and business advisor for assigned public school clients, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
• Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll oversight, grant management, and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while managing multiple client engagements and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, problem-solving, and business partnership.
• Oversee business office operations, establish effective financial controls, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Support organizational growth by ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and successful implementation of business support strategies.
