Job summary

CFS, a growing manufacturing organization in Naugatuck, CT, is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead daily accounting operations, manage a team, and ensure accurate financial reporting and timely month-end close.

You will oversee inventory accounting, supervise AP/AR, review journal entries, and mentor staff while partnering with leadership to improve processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7-10 years progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Prior supervisory or managerial accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accounting activities and ensure accurate inventory reporting.
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Review and prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Perform and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with inventory reporting, controls, and process improvements.
• Mentor and support accounting team members.
• Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
