Job summary

TBG | The Bachrach Group is seeking an Accounting Supervisor in Houston to lead our day-to-day Accounts Receivable, drive process improvements, and support month-end closes. The role combines hands-on accounting tasks with leadership responsibilities over an AR team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong AR exposure, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel; Dynamics 365 experience is a plus. Hybrid option available in a leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on Accounts Receivable experience.
• Experience leading, supervising, or managing an A/R team.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• General accounting experience beyond A/R.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• ERP experience; Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Accounts Receivable operations, including billing, cash application, collections, and customer account maintenance.
• Manage, mentor, and support the A/R team while implementing best practices and process improvements.
• Monitor aging and partner with customers and internal teams to resolve outstanding balances.
• Review customer credit requests and account adjustments.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
• Assist with management reporting and other general accounting activities.
• Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Treasury, and other departments.
• Support audit requests, schedules, and documentation.
• Participate in special projects and accounting process improvement initiatives.

Job description

We are partnering with a growing Houston-area organization seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join its accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong Accounts Receivable background, demonstrated experience leading an A/R team, and exposure to month-end close and general accounting.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable both managing the day-to-day A/R function and rolling up their sleeves to handle reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and other general accounting responsibilities.
