Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Accounting Specialist responsible for account coding and data entry for accounts payable and receipting transactions. This full-time position involves processing invoices, reimbursements, cash receipts and receipting, printing and mailing checks, and supporting audits.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in accounting or related field and at least two years of accounting experience with strong Excel and Word skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Two years accounting experience; intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shared mailboxes and print/forward documentation as needed.
• Process, code and record invoices, reimbursements, and cash receipts.
• Process, code and record receipting transactions.
• Print checks as assigned and prepare for mailing.
• Email ACH payment information to vendors after approvals.
• Retrieve documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Maintain records per Salvation Army policies and procedures.
