The role entails reconciling ledgers, processing accounts payable, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accuracy across financial records. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in accounting and 1–2 years of experience in a financial institution, with strong Excel/Office skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field is required.
• Minimum of one to two years of accounting or financial institution experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts payable is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile assigned general ledger and suspense accounts daily, monthly, or as required.
• Monitor the corporate account and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Complete daily cash and check balancing.
• Balance ATMs daily, including off-site ATMs.
• Process cash advances, stop payments, and securities transactions.
• Process, verify, and reconcile accounts payable invoices; ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
• Establish and maintain prepaid expense records.
• Set up fixed assets and maintain the buildings-in-process general ledger account.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies promptly
• Provide guidance to Credit Union staff to address and prevent accounting errors.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions.
