Job summary

Wurth Industry North America is seeking an Accounting Specialist II to join our finance team in Minnesota. This mid-level role supports general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, reporting, and billing, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

You’ll collaborate across departments, assist with month-end close, manage investigations of variances, and contribute to internal controls while growing your accounting skills in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with growth in responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post recurring and non-standard journal entries (e.g., accruals, reclasses, prepaid amortizations).
• Reconcile key general ledger accounts, including cash, AR, AP, and inventory on a monthly basis.
• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data.
• Support billing functions, including reviewing and validating billing data and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor and track fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation activity.
• Assist with compliance tasks, such as sales tax filings, property tax tracking, and support for external audits.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity.
• Participate in financial analysis and reporting efforts, including preparing standard reports and dashboards.
• Help implement and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Support and contribute to special projects and initiatives within the accounting and finance team.
• Other duties as assigned.
