Financeroles in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Accounting Clerk II to perform routine and occasional complex clerical accounting tasks across general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. You will compile documents, post transactions, verify amounts and support management with cash handling, audits and cost allocations.

This non-exempt role reports to the Controller or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years of formal post-high school specialized training required.
• Minimum 2 years payroll and/or clerical accounting experience.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
• Must speak and understand instructions and policy documents; communicate with customers.
• Requires basic keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable tasks such as daily cash, over/short notices, and vouchers audits.
• Process invoices and research discrepancies in accounts payable.
• Handle bi-weekly payroll and review payroll registers.
• Validate daily sales transactions and correct cost allocation errors.
• Conduct department cash audits and cashier audits.
• Evaluate reports and perform audits to identify issues.
• Use exception-based reporting to identify control deficiencies and reduce losses.
