Job summary

Easterseals MORC is seeking an Accounting Specialist to maintain general ledger integrity, support month-end close, and assist with audits in line with GAAP. You will reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, monitor cash flow, and manage accounts payable activities.

Using EMERGE, MIP, and Compass, you will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, import data, review invoices, and help deliver timely, accurate financial reporting for leadership and regulators.

Qualifications

• Requires strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience reconciling General Ledger and bank/cash accounts.
• Familiarity with financial systems and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Balance, analyze, and reconcile assigned General Ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor monthly cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, allocations, accruals, and other adjustments.
• Extract data from EMERGE, review for accuracy, and import into MIP.
• Review, verify, and process invoices in Compass and import into MIP.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain and administer Positive Pay processes.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities with reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation per policy.
• Serve as backup to Accounts Payable Supervisor as needed.
