Job summary

Ramco, Powered by Sukup is seeking an Accounting Specialist in West Des Moines, IA to manage a broad set of accounting activities. The role covers general ledger, month-end close, inventory and COGS, tax filings, supplier payments, intercompany work, and ERP-related tasks.

The candidate will support the Controller and improve internal controls. The position requires 2–4 years of accounting experience, an associate degree in accounting or finance, and proficiency with ERP systems (Prophet 21

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor degree or equivalent accounting experience.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems, preferably Prophet 21.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting and month-end close activities with reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, schedules and supporting docs.
• Handle inventory-related accounting, COGS, rebates, and related GL activity.
• Process supplier rebates, vendor credits, and intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate sales/use tax filings and tax documentation with provider.
• Process scheduled supplier payments (ACH, checks, wires) and monitor discounts.
• Support accounts receivable in Prophet 21, including payments and disputes.
• Provide ERP support, issue research, and assist with reporting and automation initiatives.
• Document and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
