Job summary

DFC Company in North Dakota is seeking an accounting support specialist to join our Finance team in West Fargo. Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm, you will assist with accounts payable and support AR tasks as needed.

This role also handles sales and use tax filings, purchase order maintenance, and credit card reconciliations, with opportunities to back up GL and other areas.

A two-year degree in Accounting or Finance is required; two years of related experience is a plus.

• Assist with sales and use tax assessments on invoices and tax reporting to ensure accurate filings.
• Responsible for Purchase Order maintenance and closing.
• Assist with reconciling company credit cards.
• Serve as a primary back-up to specified areas within Accounting/Finance (Accounts Receivable, GL, and Sales/Use Tax).

Summary

• Cross-trained to be able to assist with receivables functions, including scanning and entry of receipts into the company work pool system, applying cash to customer accounts, and making deposits as required.
• Assists with sales and use tax assessments on invoices where not charged and sales and use tax reporting needed to ensure accurate tax filings as required within each state.
• Responsible for Purchase Order maintenance and closing.
• Assistance with reconciling company credit cards.
• Work as a primary back-up to specified areas within the Accounting/Finance department (Accounts Receivables, GL, and Sales/Use Tax)

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• A two-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college is required. A four-year degree is preferred. Two (2) years of directly related experience is a plus.
