Job summary

Freedom Industries, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Corporate Admin Department. You will set up contracts, billings, and POs, process invoices, monitor AR, and reconcile accounts to keep financial records accurate.

You will support project managers with budgets and profitability analysis and help implement AI-driven automation across processes. The role emphasizes collaboration with operations, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding our mission and core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Set up customer contracts, jobs, and purchase orders in the accounting system.
• Prepare and process customer invoices, billings, and change orders.
• Monitor AR aging, follow up on past-due balances, and apply customer payments.
• Review and reconcile customer accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations, identifying and quickly resolving discrepancies.
• Work closely with project managers and operations team members to ensure accurate project financials, monitor budgets, and resolve billing and coding questions.
• Assist with job profitability analysis and reporting.
• Review transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and other Corporate Admin Department functions as needed.
• Respond professionally to customers, vendors, and internal inquiries.
• Maintain organized electronic filing and document retention for accounting records.
• Support implementation of AI tools and identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, internal controls, and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO/Controller.
• Lead by example in championing Freedom Industries’ Mission Statement and Core Values.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, and reconciliations.
