Job summary

TGG Accounting in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a four-person team. You will handle full-cycle accounting across 15 entities, manage AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll reporting, and work closely with the Corporate Accountant to improve processes.

This onsite role requires at least 1 year of hands-on accounting experience and a proactive, detail-driven mindset to learn and grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on accounting experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
• Knowledge of California payroll regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle accounting across 15 entities.
• Manage AP and AR with timely processing of transactions.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist with semi-monthly processing and payroll reporting.
• Research discrepancies and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Maintain financial records across multiple systems.
• Assist with workers' compensation reporting and audits.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accountant on special projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on accounting experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, strengthen their technical accounting skills, and gain exposure to the financial operations of 15 separate entities.

You'll be part of a close-knit, four-person accounting team, working directly alongside an experienced Corporate Accountant who values training, collaboration, and developing team members.

We're looking for someone dynamic, intuitive, analytical, and naturally curious-someone who doesn't just process transactions but wants to understand the "why" behind the numbers.

WhatYou'llBeDoing

• Supportfull-cycleaccountingactivitiesacross15entities, gaining hands-on exposure to a variety of financial functions and business operations.
• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Performbankandaccountreconciliations, including corporate accounts, trust accounts, and company credit cards.
• Assist with semi-monthly processing, payroll reporting, and maintaining accurate employee financial records.
• Research discrepancies, troubleshoot accounting issues, and proactively identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintainfinancialrecordsacrossmultipleaccountingsystems,databases,andspreadsheets.
• Assist with workers' compensation reporting, audits, and other compliance-related accounting activities.
• CollaboratewiththeCorporateAccountantandfellowteammembersonspecialprojectsandadditionalaccountingresponsibilities.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on accounting experience with a strong understanding on foundational accounting principles.
• Associate'sdegreeorrelevantcourseworkinAccounting,Finance,orarelatedfield.
• ExperiencewithAP,AR,reconciliations,andcorporatepayrollprocessing.
• WorkingknowledgeofCaliforniapayrollregulationsandgeneralaccountingpractices.
