SSC Advisors, Inc. in Salina, Kansas is expanding its Client Accounting Services team by hiring an Accounting Specialist. The role focuses on payroll processing, general ledger activity, tax filings, and AP/AR support to help owners and clients achieve success.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of accounting or payroll experience, strong analytical and Excel skills, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online. This position is on-site in Salina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and will be considered a strong asset
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or payroll experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience with accounting software including QuickBooks Online
• Experience with spreadsheets and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process weekly or biweekly payrolls
• Prepare required multi-state tax filings and record activity in the general ledger
• Reconcile bank statements to financial records
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform monthly financial closing process
• Ensure revenue and expenses are properly recorded
• Prepare operating budgets and forecasts
• Prepare reporting for accounts receivable and aging
• Review and process accounts payable transactions
• Generate invoices and record receipts
• Prepare and manage sales and use tax returns for multiple states

We are a leading regional accounting services firm and we are looking to expand our Client Accounting Services team with an Accounting Specialist for a growth position in our Salina, Kansas office.

Primary duties are:

• Prepare and process weekly or biweekly payrolls;
• Prepare required multi state tax filings and record activity in the general ledger;
• Reconcile bank to financial records;
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Some general duties include:

• Perform monthly financial closing process
• Ensure revenue/expenses are properly recorded
• Prepare operating budgets and forecasts
• Prepare reporting for accounts receivables and aging of accounts
• Review and process accounts payable transactions
• Ability to generate invoices and record receipts
• Prepare and manage sales & use tax returns for multiple states

• A bachelor's degree and/or previous accounting coursework is preferred and will be considered a strong asset for success in this role
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or payroll preparation
• Strong analytical skills
• Skilled in accounting technology including spreadsheets
• Experience with accounting systems including QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to interact with clients and peers
• Experience with the Microsoft suite of applications is required
