Job summary

SSC Advisors, Inc. is expanding its Client Accounting Services team with an Accounting Specialist for our Salina, Kansas office. Primary duties include payroll processing, tax filings across multiple states, and bank reconciliation, with responsibilities in A/P and A/R.

The role supports the monthly close, budgeting and forecasting, and client reporting. Strong communication, Excel and QuickBooks Online experience are strongly preferred for success in this growth position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or accounting coursework preferred
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or payroll experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Skilled in spreadsheets and accounting technology
• Experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and prioritization
• Strong organization and multitasking abilities
• Ability to interact with clients and peers
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process weekly or biweekly payrolls.
• Prepare multi-state tax filings and record activity in the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank to financial records.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform monthly financial closing processes.
• Ensure revenue and expenses are properly recorded.
• Prepare operating budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare reporting for accounts receivable and aging.
• Review and process accounts payable transactions.
• Generate invoices and record receipts.
• Prepare and manage sales & use tax returns for multiple states

We are a leading regional accounting services firm and we are looking to expand our Client Accounting Services team with an Accounting Specialist for a growth position in our Salina, Kansas office.

Primary duties are:

• Prepare and process weekly or biweekly payrolls;
• Prepare required multi state tax filings and record activity in the general ledger;
• Reconcile bank to financial records;
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Some general duties include:

• Perform monthly financial closing process
• Ensure revenue/expenses are properly recorded
• Prepare operating budgets and forecasts
• Prepare reporting for accounts receivables and aging of accounts
• Review and process accounts payable transactions
• Ability to generate invoices and record receipts
• Prepare and manage sales & use tax returns for multiple states

• A bachelor's degree and/or previous accounting coursework is preferred and will be considered a strong asset for success in this role
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or payroll preparation
• Strong analytical skills
• Skilled in accounting technology including spreadsheets
• Experience with accounting systems including QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
