Job summary

ImmunEdge has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing Finance team in Plano, TX. This role supports month-end close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities in a fast-moving biotech environment.

The ideal candidate is early in career with 1–3 years of accounting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and a willingness to learn and take ownership of routine processes while identifying improvements. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting a plus.
• US GAAP knowledge and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with NetSuite a plus; attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle month-end close including journal entries and accruals.
• Process accounts payable and review invoices for timely payments.
• Assist with payroll and lease-related entries.
• Maintain audit-ready records and assist with year-end audits.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Progress toward CPA licensure (parts passed)

Position:

ImmunEdge has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing Finance team. This individual will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the accounting function supporting month-end close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities while building a strong foundation across finance operations in a fast-moving, early-stage biotech.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support full-cycle month-end close, including journal entry preparation, accruals, account reconciliations, and flux analysis


• Assist with recording payroll and lease-related entries


• Process accounts payable, including reviewing and coding invoices, to help ensure timely, accurate vendor payments


• Facilitate vendor onboarding and contract and purchase-request intake, routing documents into our contract management system


• Assist with year-end audit support, including responding to external auditor requests


• Support employee expense and T&E processing


• Maintain well-organized, audit-ready records and documentation


• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field


• 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus


• Working knowledge of core accounting principles (US GAAP)


• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)


• Comfort with accounting systems and tools; experience with NetSuite is a plus


• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills


• Ability to handle routine work reliably while navigating occasional nuance and ambiguity


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Eagerness to learn and grow in a supportive start-up environment

Preferred Qualifications (Plus):

• Progress toward CPA licensure (parts passed)


• Public accounting experience


• Experience in biotech, pharma, or another early-stage/start-up environment


• NetSuite experience


• Experience with AI tools (i.e. Claude in Excel)


• Exposure to AP automation, T&E platforms, forecasting platforms, or contract management systems

Expected Salary Range

$70,000 - $90,000
