Job summary

Godshall & Godshall Personnel Consultants, Inc. is seeking a hands-on accounting professional for daily reconciliations, AP/AR support, and month-end activities. The position offers growth potential in a collaborative environment and a direct-hire arrangement.

You will work with cross-functional teams, assist audits, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining accuracy and compliance. A Bachelor's in Accounting or related field is preferred, with proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, audit support, or financial operations experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transaction flows.
• Advanced attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting activities including reconciliations, AP/AR support, cash movements, check processing, and ledger-related tasks.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while identifying trends and irregular activity.
• Support month-end close activities by completing tasks accurately and on time.
• Assist with financial, client, and regulatory audits by gathering documentation and providing research support.
• Communicate with internal departments, clients, vendors, and servicing partners to resolve accounting questions.
• Participate in projects to improve processes, systems, and cross-training.

What your future day will look like:

• Perform daily accounting activities including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable support, cash movements, check processing, and ledger-related transactions.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while identifying trends, exceptions, and unusual activity.
• Support month-end close activities by completing assigned tasks accurately and within established deadlines.
• Assist with financial, client, and regulatory audits by gathering documentation and providing research support.
• Communicate with internal departments, clients, vendors, and servicing partners to resolve accounting questions and support operational needs.
• Participate in accounting projects, process improvements, system enhancements, and cross-training opportunities to expand technical knowledge.

To be a champion in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transaction flows.
• Advanced attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications; accounting software experience preferred.
• Self-motivated professional with strong initiative, follow-through, communication skills, and a desire to learn and grow.
