MacDermid Alpha Electronic Solutions, based in Manatí, Puerto Rico, seeks a Temporary Accounting Specialist to support our Finance team with month-end close, reconciliations, inventory control, taxes, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, manufacturing experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments. Excellent attention to detail and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited university required.
• 1–5 years of accounting experience; recent grads may be evaluated.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and financial analysis is a plus.
• Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities and financial reconciliations.
• Manage assigned accounting functions including metals accounting and permanent investments.
• Handle tax compliance (including SURI reporting) and inventory control.
• Conduct cycle count activities and refine related accounting processes.

MacDermid Alpha Electronic Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Temporary Accounting Specialist to support our Finance team in Manatí, Puerto Rico. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting and financial activities, including month-end close processes, account reconciliations, inventory control, metals accounting, freight management, tax compliance, and financial reporting support.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities and financial reconciliations.
• Manage assigned accounting functions such as:
• Metals accounting
• Permanent investments
• Tax compliance (including SURI reporting)
• Inventory control
• Cycle count activities
• Refining-related accounting processes
• Analyze and reconcile data between multiple systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Investigate discrepancies between financial and operational systems, recommend corrective actions, and communicate financial impacts to stakeholders.
• Prepare and support cost of manufacturing (COM) analyses for assigned products and materials.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Delivery, Engineering, Maintenance, and other business functions to provide financial support and insights.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and analysis.
• Lead and participate in finance process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures and desk-level documentation.
• Assist with special projects and other finance-related duties as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited university required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year to 5 years of accounting experience.
• Recent graduates can be evaluated
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and financial analysis is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
